Grandma Goes To Geoge Part 2

Everyday life with a two-year old girl is exciting, but when you have one as creative and imaginative as Emmie (as she calls herself), life is a blast!  Of course, it helps to have such a fun mom.  With outings to Baskin Robbins, the market and to ballet lessons, along with painting projects and pretending with her animals, Emma kept Grandma very entertained!

The last day of my visit, we returned to the Expo Center in Busan to visit a trick art museum.  What a great place for photo enthusiasts such as Stephanie and Ben.  Below is  a portion of our family gallery of art.

It truly was a picture perfect day!

Grandma Goes to Geoge

Bob had business to conduct in China for a few days, so it was the perfect time for an escape to Geoge Island.  The bus ride was comfortable and took about 4 hours and 20 minutes with a 10 minute break about half-way there.  I tried to capture some of the scenery along the way, although a bleak day and dirty bus windows didn't help.

The first day there we decided to go to the exhibition hall in Busan and check out this fun children's play center.  Emma was the main attraction, as Korean children followed her around like a movie star to play with and take care of her!

The following day was a beautiful day for a hike.  We found a trail on the mountain behind a university which lead to an eco park in the making.

We continued on toward the coast and found a beautiful overlook area with exercise equipment. What a tranquil spot for a workout! We enjoyed watching all the ships in the ocean.

We continued exploring, thinking we'd head down to the coast, but instead found some military bunkers hidden away among the rocks and forest.  There was tower overlooking the ocean, a perfect spot from which to see an advancing enemy attack from the sea.  It was one of those surreal moments when we felt like we had stepped back in time and were experiencing the terrors of the Korean War.

What an exciting day we had.  Emma even found a big toy to play on!
