Mom and Dad had arranged a special treat for the family when they returned from Morocco. Friday night, we met Ben at a park across Paris where we had McDonald's take out food for dinner.
Afterward, we walked across the street to a museum. We had tickets to see the Vincent Van Gogh exhibit along with other art and light features at Atelier des Lumieres - the Museum of Light. This was a unique experience and a museum unlike any I had been to. We entered a large building which is sectioned off into many areas including a balcony and a basement. Projected upon every surface of the building, was a featured artist's painting which had been modified to be slightly animated and set to music. The presentation rotated through several of each artist's creations. Because we had visited the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam last year, Stephanie thought it would be fun to take the family to this particular exhibit. Also featured were a couple of other artists including one from Japan. The video clips below give a better idea of what this museum is like.
The next two weeks were Spring Break for the kids. When Bob and I came back from Korea, we told each of our children that we would take their family on a vacation. So when planning this trip, we decided that the week of April 20-27, 2019, would be a great time to plan a trip with the Johnson Family. We wanted to go somewhere in Europe that would have warm weather and settled upon Southern Spain. My next few posts will feature that vacation. But first, I'll finish up my Paris vacation, with a few photos of the Eiffel Tower at night, because that was something I had not yet done. Following our trip to Spain, I returned to Paris for my return flight to Houston on the 29th. The evening of the 28th, Stephanie and I took a final quick jaunt into Paris to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle and shine. (Unfortunately, I can't change the orientation of the video.)
Farewell Paris - the City of Lights!
