Our Family Reunion at South Padre Island

When Bob and I returned to the states in 2017, we wanted to find an opportunity for us to get all of our children together for a reunion  When Stephanie's family decided to take a break from Paris and come to Texas for a summer vacation in 2019, we decided this was the time to make it happen. And miraculously, it did happen despite Ben having had a stroke one month prior. Bobby's family flew to Texas from Utah and we all met up at South Padre Island for a Goodman Family Reunion the week of July 20-27.  Michael was not able to take the whole week off from his new job, but came down late on Tuesday night.  We missed having Ben with us, but were grateful that his mom and sister were in Houston taking care of him as his treatment continued in the hospital.  We rented three condos at Saida Towers from our Goodman Family property management company on the island.  With swimming pools, tennis, and beach access, it was the perfect destination for our family.

Sunday we went to church and then just played together around the resort.  The rest of the week, we were at the beach as often as we could be.

The swimming pools and tennis courts provided a second favorite form of recreation for our crew.  A couple of huge beach balls kept the kids entertained as well.

It was fun to celebrate Tanner's 4th Birthday together with a dinosaur party which Stephanie had planned.  I think we discovered the cutest bunch of dinosaurs that roam the earth today!

Bob and I had a bunch of kites which we had purchased in Korea and brought down to South Padre with us.
They were a hit with the kids and we spent the afternoon seeing how high we could make them soar.

Assignments were made to prepare dinner at our condos most nights and we were often treated to some wildly unique after dinner entertainment!

With this much fun going on at the resort, who needs anything more?  Well, with our gang, there is always more organized fun in store . . .
