Las Vegas, Pine Valley and Family

We arrived in Las Vegas on Friday night, and the untouched slot machines at the airport were as close as we got to any casinos the whole trip!

Saturday morning, we drove up to Pine Valley to meet our Utah kids at the lodge.  Bobby, Jill, Linely, Max, Chelsea and Thomas spent Friday night there and Grandma, Grandpa, Bob and I were anxious to see them.  It was a beautiful, crisp and cool weekend in the valley and the trees were just beginning to change colors A little basketball, a critter search with Linley and Max, a wild golf cart and 4-wheeler ride, some rock throwing and cloud watching made for a perfect afternoon.  That evening we went to the one and only restaurant there, the newly re-opened Brandin' Iron Steakhouse.  The delicious steak was a rare treat for us Koreans!

Sunday we went to church at the crowded historic little chapel, played games, visited, and then departed for home.  The time with our children was much too short, and we are glad we will get to spend more time with them in December.

Returning to Vegas Sunday afternoon provided us with a few days to spend with Bob's siblings and to finish our shopping before flying back to Seoul on Wednesday.  We ate and visited at Connie's home where she raises chickens and has started a home bakery business.  An evening at Olive Garden and a visit to Pam's house was another treat - especially seeing Pam's wooden craft business in full motion.  (Just a sneak peak . . .)  Grandpa gathered his children around for a family council, and it was a wonderful time to reflect on the blessings of family, health, responsibilities, faith, and future.  We are so very grateful for Grandma and Grandpa Goodman, and the choice heritage they have provided for their posterity!  Grandma positive attitude through the past three years of cancer treatments is an amazing example for all of us.  Doesn't she look fabulous! (And check out that adorable smile on Grandpa, too!)

Thanks for the good times, Goodman Family!
