Sharon's Stateside Summer (July 20 - 31 in Green River)

It takes about two and a half hours to drive from Murray to Green River, with the first half of the drive being a pleasant climb up the mountain canyon past Park City, through the quaint Coalville farming valley, along the red-rock walled Echo Canyon and into Evanston, Wyoming.  My interest in the desert vistas beyond that point quickly fades and our final destination seems forever out of reach. But then, looming ahead on the horizon are beautiful chimney rock formations beckoning and welcoming our arrival to the city of Green River, Wyoming.  What awaits us in this dusty wind blown desert valley?  You just might be surprised!

Chelsea and Knox drove to Green River with Bob and I, arriving on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.  The others would have to leave on Sunday to catch flights returning them home the following week, but I would remain here until August 13.  Here's a sampling of our July activities in Wyoming - I've saved the best for last!:

Enjoying a Neighborhood Park

 Playing in the Backyard

 Conquering Mountain Trails

Cooling Down at the Splash Park

Going to Soccer Games and the River Park

Splashing and Playing in Rock Springs

Participating in the Pioneer Day Celebration

Creating and Pretending in the Basement With "Birth Day" Gifts From Mom and Dad

 Welcoming Baby Tanner!

Tanner Robert Johnson was delivered by c-section at 8:12 a.m., Tuesday, July 26.
Our big boy measured in at 9 lbs 1 oz and 20" long.

Stephanie came home after just a few nights at the hospital, and you'll see in the next post that she wasn't about to sit still and let any fun pass her by!
