Paris Patiently Awaits

Nearly a week after my departure to Paris, I finally spent time adoring her awesome artwork and architecture the week of April 29 through May 7.  I'm posting some photos of the upper middle class neighborhood and home where the Johnson's live.  The trees around the area were adorned with colorful flowers.  I guess I had never considered that the term "French Doors" really are the doors that are placed through out a French house - I love them!  The kids received baby chicks for Easter, and Ben put together a coop for them in their back yard.  It's a nice set up for their family.

Not far from their home is a small little plaza and a big park and forest, where the kids love to explore.  Bob joined us in Paris the end of that week.  He had lots of business to attend to in Europe, so our time with him was limited to weekends.

At one end of the forest is a scenic overlook where there are really nice sweeping views of the city of Paris.  The Eiffel tower stands majestically as a watchtower over the city.

The main part of town is so quaintly "French" and the Johnson's have a favorite creperie there which we frequented a couple of times.  Ahhhh, savory and sweet crepes, the quintessential treat of Paris.

Not far from their home is the Paris Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  In addition to attending church at their local french speaking ward, Bob and I took the opportunity to attend an endowment session at the temple the last Saturday we we there.  The outside of the temple blends seamlessly with the other buildings on the lovely tree-line street.  There is no steeple, so it does not at first appear to be anything unusual.  But it is!  The beautiful stain glass windows throughout the temple feature purple wisteria blooms and coordinates perfectly with the tapestry used for the furniture.  The small courtyard behind the temple features a model of the Christus statue and is a quiet little sanctuary not far from Versailles.

Plus de votre beauté attend Paris!
